Description

  • Arkansas Stone
  • 2.35mm Shank
  • Recommended speed of no more than 10,000RPM
  • Pre-polishing for Glass Engraving
  • Final Polishing for Metals, Ceramic, Porcelain, Enamel and Stone
  • Use with light pressure
  • Use dry

With a 2.35mm shank, these hard Arkansas stone burs have a recommended speed of no more than 10,000 RPM. However, it's best to begin with around 5,000 RPM drill speed and find your own way with the burs, increasing speed as you go.

An Arkansas stone is an essential glass engraving tool for pre-polishing. Use the Arkansas stones on blank (unengraved) areas of your glass, or use a green stone then followed by a white Arkansas stone, then finally a silicone rubber polisher.

An Arkansas grinding stone is excellent for use on metals, ceramics and stone, and for fine texturing in wood carving.

Please wear a dust mask, taking care not to inhale any fumes or dust.

“The arkansas stone is the “real deal”, nice and soft and easy to polish back” - Robert Page. Guild of Glass Engravers

Other questions and our answers

Does the White Arkansas Stone Burrs will work with a dremel rotary tool with a 1/8" collet? Thank you

Sergio Rodriguez

The Arkansas white stone burrs have a 2.35mm (3/32") shank so you will need a Dremel Multi Chuck to attach these to your Dremel.

How many times can I use the Arkansas bur before throwing it away. How many uses does it have?

Arkansas is a natural stone so you can use it until the stone wears down to nothing.

How long it will last will depend on what material you're using it on, how you're using it, how long you're using it for at any one time, how fast you're running the burr, etc - there are too many variables to say how long one stone burr will last to give you a definitive answer I'm afraid, but we hope this helps a bit.
