Thin Wall Diamond Core Drills
- Diameter sizes available from 4.5mm - 12mm
- Wall thickness of between 0.4mm - 0.6mm
These electroplated diamond core drill bits have a thin wall in comparison with our standard diamond core drills. The diamond core thin wall allows for a more precise cut with a better surface finish and less chipping. They should be used on delicate, hard materials such as optical glass, watch glass, sheet glass, thin glass, thin slices of stone, fossil, or any stone that is 6.5 or below on the Moh's scale of hardness.
These diamond core drills are manufactured ad designed with a precision outer diameter for drilling a hole, as well as a thin wall to enable precision extraction of a core.

If you are a jeweller looking for diamond core drill bit sizes as small as 1mm - 3mm, please visit this page.
If you are using a hobby type rotary tool such as a Dremel, or a pendant drill you might like to try our 6mm Bottle Neck Diamond Core drills. These have a 2.35mm shank (3/32").
Drilling of all other hard materials can be done using our standard Diamond Core Drills.
Helpful Note: The diameter size of the diamond core drill bit indicated refers to the size of the hole you will achieve. If you are looking to achieve a core rather than drill a hole please see the technical tab for the internal diameter of each core drill.
Tip: Use diamond core drill bits with plenty of cold water, slow speed (5,000 rpm) and low pressure
Helpful note: If you find the diamond drill bit skittering across the surface of your work, angle the drill to make the initial cut and then continue to drill vertically.
