Description

Our diamond needle files can be used either wet or dry, they will last longer when used wet but it is understood that this isn't always practical when working on a delicate watch or clock part. As with all our products allow the tool to do the work and do not apply too much pressure especially if working on a corner or sharp edge.

The many uses for our small diamond files:

  • Use the tip for detailed areas such as ring shanks
  • Removing excess solder
  • Shaping precious stones for jewellery
  • Sharpening carbide cutting tools
  • Enlarging holes
  • Fitting clock and watch glasses
  • Refacing clock & pallets
  • Re-pivoting clock and watches
  • Beveling cut crystal glasses
  • Sharpening household objects
  • Cross graining burnishing tools
  • Sharpening fishing hooks
  • Musical instrument making
"I have some beautiful cut glass wine glasses with minor chips in them so I bought a half round diamond file in 900 grit as recommended in the tutorial. We tried the file on the glass and a bone china mug - it works brilliantly. Compliments are due to you on fantastic service and advice" - Maureen Scurr"
"I have used my diamond files in a number of ways. Re-facing clock pallets the different shaped diamond files allow you to get in where it would be difficult to reach with a grindstone. Fitting clock and watch glasses ease it by running a diamond file gently round the edge. Drilling holes in barometer glass to fit centre hand I sometimes ease the hole using a round diamond file. Repivotting in a clock I use a diamond file to rough up a piece of blued steel prior to fitting in the hole. When turning blued steel you can form a glazed surface which is not easy to cut through with a graver. I cut through it with a diamond file" - Clive Driscoll
"These Diamond Files are my favourite tools because of the large amount of pivot work I do. I can't imagine getting along without these. I can't imagine getting along without my diamond grinding wheel either. Good news is I don't have to do without either!" - Robert Uhrich
