Archimedes Drill
Horotec
ARCH1126
This Archimedes spiral push drill by Horotec is a simple yet useful tool for drilling by hand when you require a more precise application. An Archimedean drill can be used in the same way as a pin vice, for holding small drill bits and hand-drilling holes.
Use one-handed by simply pushing down on the top with your forefinger while working the central spiral up and down with your thumb and middle finger. This causes the drill to turn. Ideal when you need to drill delicate holes.
- Will hold drill bits up to and including 1.0mm
Description
"An Archimedes Hand Drill equipped with a 0.75mm diamond drill bit is used to hand drill, particularly fragile samples. Suitable for use with low-fired ceramics and likely with non-fired clay objects, which may be more prone to crumbling under the pressure of a motorised drill" - From the MET: an update on methodological developments.
