Small Diamond Twist Drills
Available in sizes from 0.75mm - 3.00mm. Straight shank.
These are like a regular twist drill but coated in diamond grit making them possible to use on hard materials such as stone, glass, ceramics, porcelain, and shell. They are designed for enlarging holes rather than drilling holes. Perfect for enlarging holes in pearls.
They have diamond grit running along the tip and sides allowing them to remove material horizontally as well as vertically and are especially good for widening existing holes. Try them on your beads.
Used by lamp workers and bead jewellers and also by many industrial companies for ceramics. And if you need to de-mist your double glazing, try using a 3mm twist drill in the corner at the bottom. Magic!
Diamond grit is precisely electroplated onto a steel shank

Will your drill bits fit my drill?
Our drill bits will fit all rotary drills so long as you have an adjustable collet or chuck with which to hold the shank of our very small drill bits. Sometimes when buying a drill they will come with an adjustable collet but if you find you are in need of one then we supply either a Dremel Multi Chuck (DMC4486) or a Dremel Collet Nut Kit (DCNK4485).
I want to enlarge some very small holes in 4 -6 mm rough uncut diamond beads. I need the holes to be 1mm. to accommodate .8 - 1 mm silver wire. Would the drill bits be suitable for this? Should I use a twisted or core drill bit?
To enlarge holes you need to use the Small Diamond Twist drills.
These are ideal for increasing the size of holes in beads once the hole has been drilled.
