Clock Pivot Files
TIP: Remove larger pitting with our 220 grit diamond files first
Description
Our Vallorbe Pivot Files and Bunisher are Swiss made with precision corners to ensure the perfect finish on your pivot. One edge of the pivot file has a radius for balance staffs. The opposing end of the pivot file has a hardened steel burnisher for the final polishing of the pivot.
The pivot file and burnisher are available in either right or left hand, but be cautious this doesn't represent which hand you use the pivot file with, rather it depends on whether you use the pivot file on top or underneath the pivot. Left hand is for on top of the pivot and right hand is for underneath the pivot.
How to use our Clock Pivot Files
Remove general pitting first right up to the shoulder of the pivot and then burnish with the other end.
Technical
- Clock Pivot File/Burnisher: 60mm x 6mm x 3mmx 180mm (overall length)
What our customers say...
"I use a pivot file/burnisher for reducing the diameter of pivots and burnishing the pivot when the correct diameter has been achieved. A pivot can be refinished in no time. Using this type of tool offers more control and ensures correct shape of the pivot. Suitable for use on straight (gear train) arbor pivots, and balance staffs etc. Simply a great tool for those involved in serious repair and restoration work." Steve Mangham
